Our family reunion tree was struck by lightning this past summer and we had to make the decision to remove the tree, but it was almost 100 feet tall as a solid oak tree. Rickert was quick to come out and take a look and was able to give a lot of options for taking care of the tree, but also a timeline of what could happen in the next couple years. This gave us the best awareness and choices to consider, even being able to request slabs for our family when we decided to remove the tree. Knowing how close this was to the house, Rickert not only had experienced crew members on site but the equipment to take care of this tree in one day! Rickert Tree Service did an outstanding job on my large willow oak. I had a communication issue early on and had to send a corrective email, but they responded professionally and completely turned things around. Todd came out and performed a full ISA Basic Tree Risk Assessment — detailed, honest, and science‑based. He even pulled up videos from his first assessment of my tree back in 2019, showing the history and changes over time. No scare tactics, no upselling, just clear explanations and the right recommendations. They also collected a fungus sample to send to OSU for lab analysis, which I really appreciated. The crew today — Jonathan, Javier, Alex, and Clint — were excellent. They showed up with all the right equipment, walked the plan with Todd, and worked with precision. They removed the decayed limb and deadwood safely, kept everything out of my neighbor’s yard, and cleaned up so well you wouldn’t know heavy equipment had been here. They made sure I was satisfied before leaving. Despite the rocky start, they proved themselves to be professional, knowledgeable, and committed to doing the job right. I highly recommend them.
